A quiet spot in the desert, a horse, a burro, a sheep, a goat, pea fowl, genuia fowl, that's my little paradise, surrounded by open space and mountains. You'll find me talking about my days and thoughts of this quiet life.

Changing Seasons:

It's hard to believe just a couple weeks ago I was sleeping outside with hardly a cover. This past week we've had over 2" of rain and the beautiful Haulapai's are capped with snow. Today there is a cold wind blowing. I went out with a stocking cap and three layers of clothes and warm gloves. Still very cold. I was glad to see that the garage was protecting Sage from the full surge of the chill wind.

This weekend the corral for Cheriki was finished and it has all ready had some good comments from outsiders who think it's super looking. All the materials are here for the barn so if next weekend is not so windy hope to have the crew to put up the barn. I've been calling all around to see if I can get someone realiable to bring Cheriki home, trim her feet and Sages feet. Once that's done we can settle into a training routine. With the barn up the North wind will be blocked and it will be easier to just go out and hang out with Cheriki.

I'm cuddled up here in front of the computer wishing it would warm up a bit so I could go clean corrals. May have to brave the wind some today. Brrrr----.

It's all a matter of perspective, isn't it? I just got up and turned on the fan because the air conditioning isn't cool enough tonight.

Florida. It's home. I miss autumn, but I don't miss winters.
